About The Artwork

This work, "Pyramid Scheme 31", is one of three pieces created for an "all-digital" group exhibition in Cleveland, OH. It was created entirely on my PC using image editing software (GIMP) and a photograph I took while sailing on Lake Tahoe - that water was COLD! This is the last of the three works, and the boldest. Whereas the other two pieces seem to traverse the image space with a certain levity, this piece whirls furiously and dominantly, front-and-center. The subtly blacked-out segments of scribbling are cryptic and intriguing, and the black "funnel cloud" fades into the white background with a confounding smoothness. This is a powerful piece that commands attention. The image is printed on 100% cotton, 290 gsm, 21.5 mil archival-quality paper with archival inks. It has a matte finish (not glossy at all) and the paper is bright white and very slightly textured. The back of the print is signed, dated, and titled. Once sold, no more prints will be produced - the piece is one-of-a-kind. This work is sized perfectly for a standard 16x20 inch mat opening, which is to say there is a small amount of overlap. There is also a white boarder of 1" or greater around the image. The print ships rolled in a sturdy tube.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I create abstract art with a focus on gestural abstraction, mark-making, geometry, and color. My work begins with rudimentary shapes or forms. As I explore their properties they often mutate and interact in unexpected ways. Additionally, I find that certain colors seem to resonate with each other. I find it valuable to view multiple finished works together, either actively or unconsciously. Sometimes, just seeing multiple works near each other through my peripheral vision will inspire one or more new works. In this way my discoveries continually compound and combine to yield new ones. I want to create things people haven't seen before. In doing this I hope to remind the viewer what it feels like to experience a particular color, smell, or other sensation for the first time. I hope to build a visual world which is strange, playful, intriguing and enduring. I am based in Cleveland, Ohio.
