Time and change are something that affects us all but as humans we retain an essence of ourselves right through our lives, a thread of continuity that remains throughout our experiences. Transformation in all it's forms has always been a fascination for us and being able to distil a lifetime into a short piece which encapsulates so much history is very compelling. Our piece XCIII (93), was created in honour of The Queens 93rd birthday, and is set to the music Zadok the Priest. We see her through a series of fleeting glimpses, as she has always been seen in the public eye; from childhood, through to adulthood and to the iconic figure we are so familiar with. We wanted to capture the beauty and preciousness of those fleeting moments in a medium that perfectly expresses the intangibility of memories. The holographic portrait inside the sculpture is visible from three sides. The steel box is clad in a royal blue flock velvet with a physical embroidered tasselled cushion adding to the 3D effect.

Najma and Yurj are digital artists based in London, primarily known for their holographic and projected content. Working in digital space, over the years the two decided to embark upon exploring more personal projects, through pieces where art and technology unite. Najma has always been fascinated with moving image and in particular, the themes of transformation and seamlessness. Yurj's point of view as a visual artist emerges from the combination between his skills as an actor/writer and director. This combination alongside his personal perception of reality (i.e timelessness and vastness with a contamination of technology), creates his vision where what faces him meets with what could be… They aspire to bring digital art into peoples home via beautiful living sculptures and moving images, as well as public spaces.
