About The Artwork
A suite of 9 paintings on the subject of Numerical symbolism. I had discovered the illogical of certain numbers having a special 'meaning' apart from just being numbers. For example, that 7 is a 'lucky number': no logic! On researching further I found a number of oddities, for example that 'a houseful of children is 5, one in each corner and one in the middle' (Welsh saying). This painting is based on Tolkien's number of rings; why just 1, 3, 7 and 9, why not fewer? Shown at exhibition in Uppsala, Sweden, Oct-Nov 2020.

Born Georgetown, Guyana (then British Guiana), South America 1944. Moved to UK 1955, to Denmark 1968, to Sweden 1971 where now resident. Basically a narrator, inspired by ancient legends, European or now especially of those from my former compatriots in South America.
