20x20x½' Minimalist "Heart Beat" Painting

Abstract Art being non-literal can take you to non descriptive places. When it comes to a specific medium or theme, I enthusiastically explore different materials and techniques. This keeps me regenerated, emphasizing my creativity. My paintings are based on composition, color and surfaces. When it comes to actual process of painting, I sometimes treat the painting surface tenderly, sometimes swirling the painting, sometimes pushing the circumference of the canvas, almost roughing up the surface. This process is created through the sharp edge and flat bed of the palette knife providing many opportunities for experimenting with color combinations and designs. A bit of rough play with the palette knife, and an otherwise tranquil puddle of paint becomes a raging sea. My work is a balance between Abstract and Impressionism styles of painting. I seek to emphasize movement , shape, texture and colors to give the viewer a glimpse into my mind's view.
