One of these palaces has been a gift from Maurice, my hairdresser in Milan, the same who had previously given me the Tiger and the nice Leopard. I have to say that his palace is very similar to him. Like him, is magical and enchanted, seems to be coming from a fairy tale, in which mingle exoticism, eccentricity, word of dreams and fantastic adventures. It’s made by glazed ceramic, painted in bright colours and gold. The second palace is more real: it’s a Tongkonan, the traditional Toraja’s house, an archaic tribe, living on the wood mountains of the south of Sulawesi’s island, in Indonesian. It’s a perfect model, made by the same Teck wood and the same decorative precision of a veritable Tongkonan. It seemed me really wonderful, when I saw it in the Tomohon’s Market, in the centre of Sulawesi, and I bought it impulsively. More difficult was arrange the shipment to Milan, by fly, in a wood hand-made could be right also for the backdrop of the enchanted Maurice’s palace.big box. Sandro Colbertaldo was born in Padua (Italy) on 1946. He come from an old family, belonging to the intellectual class of the Serenissima Republic, which members, at the end of the XV century, moved from Venice to the town of Asolo, following the court of the Queen Caterina Corner, who became overthere one of the more fervid patron of the Literature and Art of the Venetian Renaissance. Sandro spent his childhodd in Venice and he will carry the enchantement of that incredible architectural invention along all his life. His family moved to Milan on 1954. That will be his own town during all the youth and the maturity. He moved to Barcelona on 1998, when he meet Anna, his third wife. On 2002 they move from Barcelona to Cruïlles, a small Medieval village of the Baix Empordá (Costa Brava), where they are still living.
