ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Living on the coast, I am often awestruck by the colors resulting from the water, weather, and light. In fact, I often say, if I painted what I see it would look fake. The sunsets are complete with red, yellow, orange, purple, etc. The original painting is 24H" x 18"W and 1.5" deep. I created multiple layers with acrylic, goauche, and added a heavy gel for texture and value.

Nan is a full-time artist currently living on St. George Island - a remote barrier Island in Florida. After years of living in large cities and many corporate relocations, I returned to a coastal family home to decompress and my art career emerged. This was in 2015 and I have never looked back. My inspiration comes from my past and present experiences with people, places, and emotions. I love the creative process, vivid colors, and various textures. And, I often begin abstractions lacking form and see the opportunity to shift to representational qualities even if slight. I easily work for 10 - 12 hour days without struggle. The creative process brings me joy like nothing else. Look for whimsy, color, and lots of paint.
