About The Artwork

The picture is part of my period concerning the return to the origins. The village of Ittiri is located near Sassari and is known for its extraordinary folklore and popular culture. Equally interesting is the territory that surrounds it with arid valleys forming the "canyons" especially in the border area with another small town that is Romana. The picture is very large and is painted with a spatula with data colors very strongly relief. The work represents my personal emotion in the search for the origins since my paternal great grandparents came from there. The painting is dated and signed on the back.

Born in Termoli the 14/04/1972 soon moved to La Maddalena (Sardinia) where his father was originally from. He immediately manifested a certain aptitude for drawing and musical disciplines and even though his training was not immediately artistic he finally found in painting practiced by autodidact since 2000 a definite outlet to his expressive needs. His technique refers to a mixture of postimpressionism, expressionism and the art of the School of Paris. Although his landmark was Michele Cascella.. He was known and appreciated during his years of stay in Milan. It uses different techniques and ranges from oil to watercolor. Lately he is facing a period of revision of his style and themes merging the previous experiences with those of any Sardinian painting of the twentieth century as Giuseppe Biasi and Mario Delitala. In fact, in his last works is inspired by landscapes, figures and traditions of the village of Ittiri near Sassari from which came his paternal great-grandparents.
