About The Artwork
This is a painting of my son skiing towards the woods, in the beautiful ski resort of Courmayeur. The mountain you see in the background, in the middle of the clouds, is the Monte Bianco, or Mont Blanc. I made this job based on a photo I took some years ago, which I really love, as I think the colours of the resort are great. I have used soft pastels from Sennelier, Blue Earth and Unison Colour on Pastelboard. I hope you can see the pleasure of being in the middle of the mountains and how small we are within nature.

I am a new artist, pretty much self-taught, with some formal learning at the Blackheath Conservatoire with Simone Willems, now taking another course at the Conservatoire to use as studio time. I've fallen in love with pastels and charcoal, as I find them easy materials to express in paintings. I love the mountains, and want to reflect them in my drawings.
