Framed in Tasmanian Oak There is something reassuring in the scent of the Australian bush, washing away the tension of 'life', the familiar scent an embrace, as if to say 'welcome home'. The delicate, fresh aroma of eucalypts dances lightly on the breeze, while the heavier, sweet earthiness of the banksia glides alongside the stronger currents in the air around me. Elegant as the flower at it's source, the citrusy-lemon scent of the wax flowers hangs in the air, gracefully moving through the forest as she rustles past the foliage of the taller trees around her. As I move through the beautiful Australian bush, my eyes delight in the sight of the blossoms which my nose had first taken pleasure in. The bright, bold colours of the banksias in bloom captivate my attention as they stand proudly at the top of the forest. The soft blue-green of the eucalypt leaves, hemmed elegantly in pink, spill out over the path before me, so many precious gems glinting in the sunlight. And the tiny wax flower, hanging as so many perfect little pearls along the branches of their simple bush, decorating the forest in their thousands. As I take in the scent of the Australian bush around me, enjoying the brilliant colours and delicate foliage, relishing the warmth of the sun on my skin, my heart is filled with joy. So much beauty - in the sights, the smells, the feel of my home. I am overcome with a sense of wonder - that the Master Artist has designed each petal, each fragrance, the interactions of one and another as they play together in this perfect ecosystem. I am thankful to my God for the land He has given me - and I praise Him for His perfect design, the beauty around me that cannot help to bring joy to my soul.

Hello! My name is Elizabeth Kate Cooper (AKA Lizzie), and my passion as a Christian artist is to create works that celebrate the beauty and complexity of the beautiful fauna and flora of God's incredible creation. As an Australian artist, most of my work boasts the beauty of Australian sceneries (particularly in the Central Queensland area), as well as the unique animals, birds and flowers of this incredible country. I love working with a pallet knife to recreate the energy and flow of stunning landscapes on my larger acrylic on canvas works, as well as sitting down to the finer details of character and specific features in my floral works and animal portraits. I started out my career as an allied health professional, having the privilege of working with a wonderful, dedicated team in a regional hospital for a number of years. In November 2020, our precious daughter was born prematurely, and we lost her three weeks later. Painting was one of the ways I managed to stay focused on the beauty there still was in the world around me, despite the fact that our little angel was no longer with us. Though our beautiful little Anna will never be far from my heart, God has bought so much good through her short life, including the opportunity for me to launch my career as an artist. I believe art really is a God-given gift to bring so much healing, as we allow our soul the space to breathe and express our deepest emotions. As such, I so value the opportunity to bring joy, peace and awe into the homes of my collectors through my works, as well as share the experience of creative expression in my classes.
