Poured paint flows using gravity to determine the direction of marks and traces from the paint. I source maps, cartography and topography reflecting my fascination with the physicality of landforms and the residue of human marks on the land. The painted canvas explores the inherent conflict between altered and unaltered states in nature and the world we live in. These 2D and 3D paintings combine natural spatial relationships with indelible marks we humans leave on our earth’s surface.
