A drawing made from life always has a special value, even more than a photograph, since it contains not only an image, but also preserves the memories and mood of that unique moment. And the flow of paint is regulated not only by the artist, but by his environment. The sun, the wind, the location, something unique is formed from such non-random circumstances. I wanted to maintain exactly that feeling of calmness when you find yourself outside the city alone with nature on a fine day. I liked the sunbeams and running shadows on the trunks of fir trees heated by the sun. And the pattern from the interlacing of the branches, I could consider endlessly filling with peace. I made this watercolor drawing on the shores of Lake Vuoksa, Leningrad Region, Russia. It depicts a warm sunny day in a coniferous forest, shimmering shadows on the trunks. The drawing is made using the alla prima technique. Watercolor paint on a damp sheet of paper in one layer. On the front side of the picture there is a vew of fir trees and my signature. On the back there is a signature, title of work and year of creation.
