About The Artwork
Photo-painting done in 2010 developed as a digital print (on polyester cloth) of a picture I have taken of myself, then over-painted with acrylic colors. It's a self-portrait where I try to understand the search for happiness for what we think it might be. Starting from the lack of knowledge/understanding (white square) to the possible enlightment reaching out at me.

Giovanni Siano was born in Italy. At present lives in Malaysia. He is currently running an engineering business, and absolutely enjoys being a businessman by day and an artist by twilight. Having painted since teenager time using different mediums such as acrylics and oils, is recently concentrating in abstracting realism as no longer satisfied with the pure realistic representation. As part of Hong Kong's art group Artmatch has participated to a number of group exhibitions with one solo exhibition in Hong Kong in 2001 opened on the very same 9-11 day. Joined annual group exhibition in Hong Kong and lately in Taiwan, starting from 2001 up today.
