About The Artwork
This painting of acrobats was inspired by an image which I saw of young circus performers in India. I was drawn to the image because at first glance, the figures appear to be mirror images of each other but on closer examination, we see that this is a skillful but precarious balancing act performed by two individuals. It also intrigued me on a deeper level, representing our interconnectedness and reliance on others in society.
