About The Artwork
The bones of St Oswald were return to Aethelflaed, the eldest daughter of Alfred the Great at St Oswald's Priory in Gloucester. Only later medieval editions to the priory remain in Gloucester and I have used them as a backdrop to my painting. The children on the right are all members of Gloucester choir and the men on the left are members of the local Philomusica choir.
