About The Artwork
One of a series of plein air paintings of giant blue agaves painted in central Mexico. The rains had just come and the agaves were so slick and sensuous, just beautiful. I began this painting outside and then brought it into the studio to refine and add detail. The sensuous play of the leaves dancing with one another is what attracted me. Painted on a thin 4mm aluminum panel the piece floats 1" off the wall for a very contemporary look. There is no need for framing.
