ABOUT THE ARTWORK
It is my hope and wish that after this global catastrophe that our species can truly move forward as a collective. I hope we have learned more about isolation and it's implications than we have ever before. I hope new networks have been set up underpinned by patience and understanding. I realise there is no utopia, but hope there is at the very least a move towards a more egalitarian world. That's our only hope in my opinion. I myself and my entire family contracted this virus 9 months ago so I know first hand how frightening it can be. I have now contracted it for a 2nd time. In this image I have depicted people in rudimentary forms which to me symbolises our complete connection physiologically. This in turn symbolises our culpability when estimating other cultures and ethnic peoples. Colour and differences really are only skin deep.
