About The Artwork

Aftermath Part of the ‘Broken Signal’ series exhibited at Café’ Frida in Prague and Art Prague 16. Aftermath is part of a series of paintings directly inspired by found photographs of ex Soviet Union nuclear testing sites in Kazakhstan. Here the painter imagines these sites as relicts from a remote civilisation, ancient ruins of a remote future. In this particular painting the artist tries to capture the aftermath of the explosion, the moment when the dust is starting to settle, but it is still in the air. The colors and the shadows seem to dissolve in the light.
