About The Artwork
A recent work done with the idea of still life acting as a obstacle for the viewer. The subjects are crushed down by the force of the black expressive mark-making, and the green drape curves the view downwards while also blocking the spectator. I tried to be conscious of the way a person's body would feel obstructed from entering the threshold of the painting.
