Born in Krakow, Magdalene Gorecki lives and works in Chicago. Magdalene Gorecki (I) is all over the place. I paint I take pictures, I throw oddly shaped vessels of clay...I can rarely place a bookmark on who I am or what I do because I am what I do. I have tried my entire life to define myself as an artist and the furthest I’ve gotten is the Ouroboros of being subject to my mediums and the destroyer of those creations that don’t taste right. Painter, photographer, mixed media, ceramicist- artist… screw it.
