About The Artwork
The painting is a reinterpretation of the famous work "The Anatomy Lesson of Doctor Nicolaes Tulp" made by Rembrandt in 1632. "Anatomy Lesson in Bucharest" was made in 2022 and is a combination of Baroque and contemporary art. Postmodern elements can be inserted into a Baroque atmosphere. The message is clear: in Bucharest vivisection is done with a coke in hand, calmly. Those attending the lesson are too distracted, unable to follow carefully what the teacher is explaining. Today people are no longer able to focus on the really important things, they are more and more distracted, they live in the dark!
