About The Artwork

In this artwork, I sought a balance between abstraction and minimalism, with a touch of semi-abstraction. I used acrylic and marble powder to give texture and depth. The colours and shapes evoke a dreamlike landscape, where nature is both present and suggested. It brings a contemplative and soothing energy to any space, inviting reverie and introspection. This painting entitled “Angennes 1” was inspired by a scorching summer walk in the heart of the Rambouillet forest, around the rocks of Angennes in Poigny-la-Forêt in the Yvelines (France). Its colors evoke the ferns burned by the sun, the pines, the birches and the oaks, as well as the source of a small river, which is called the Guesle. The cracks evoke the rocks; the fragility and friability of these astonishing chaos of strangely shaped sandstone. The rocks of Angennes are a “must see” of the forest massif of Rambouillet. Here mingle the mineral and the vegetable, far from the urban trepidations. The edges of the painting are painted for an aesthetic rendering, which does not require to be framed. The painting is signed lower left and countersigned on the back of the canvas. It is accompanied by an invoice and a certificate of authenticity.

Self-taught, I have been painting for more than ten years. The continuous desire for exploration and freedom led me to abstract acrylic painting. Thanks to abstraction, I can suggest without ever imposing. I see painting as a vector of emotions and poetry. During my childhood, I had the chance to live near Auvers-sur-Oise. In contact with this high place of Impressionism, bathed in the influences of Van Gogh, Pissaro,… awakened this interest in art. Passionate, I began to practice as an autodidact and at the same time launched into the study of art history, techniques and theories. After trying several techniques, I got involved in 2019 in abstract acrylic painting which allows me to express greater creativity. I carry out a constant work of research of materials, combination of colours, constrasts and shapes through mixed techniques mixing collages, sands, inks,… To transcribe my feelings, I superimpose layers of paint either textured or glazed, alternating intuitive phases and more conscious phases in search of harmony. Each canvas is a search, an inner journey. I see each painting as a vector of emotions, unconsciously arousing mystery and consciously awakening a new look. Thank you for your visit !
