In the Laozi cycle it’s as if we see the essence of the stylistic framework of The general, Maps and Landscape-stories sequences, coming to life. Namely the expressive, informal foundation remains, but sometimes it is more delicate, more atmospheric, then more colourful, more concentrated, more dense. Here and there mysteriously hinted-at pliable shapes and visionary beings formulate the backgrounds in elastic splotches and powerfully swirling cloud veins, and sometimes also embracing factual and structural influences. And usually the rephrased details of structural elements already familiar from the Landscape-stories, become situated on these expressive stain-like imaginary horizonless spaces. However in this situation, these elements materialize instead as imagined and disconnecting tracks, branching off paths, gates and fences bending into arches, graphic-like drawings, private geo-graphical notes changed into action particles, and as details of events, signs and symbols. * * * A Lao-ce ciklusban mintha A tábornok és a Térképek, valamint a Tájtörténetek szekvenciáinak esszenciális stíluskereszteződését látnánk életre kelni. Tudniillik az expresszív informel alap marad, de néha talán finomabb, atmoszférikusabb, olykor színtelítettebb, töményebb, sűrűbb, itt-ott sejtelmesen sejtetett, képlékeny alakokat és látomásos lényeket, elasztikus foltokat és erőteljesen gomolygó felhőteléreket hagyón, olykor fakturális és strukturális hatásokat is magába foglalón fogalmazódnak meg ezek a hátterek. Így rendszerint ezekre mint horizontvonal nélküli expresszív folthatású imaginációs terekre helyeződnek a tájtörténetekből már jól ismert strukturális kirakóelemek átköltött részletei. Ezek a kirakóelemek azonban ebben az esetben inkább elképzelt és meg-megszakadó nyomvo-nalakat, elágazó utakat, ívekké hajló kapukat és kerítéseket, grafikonszerű ábrákká, magán-térképészeti „megjegyzésekké” átfordított cselekményparányokat és eseményrészleteket, jeleket és szimbólumokat testesítenek meg.
