The Gaze series is inspired by real life experiences. In the rush of life, there is always a contemplative figure. They were thinking exactly what I was curious about. Staring, capturing the momentary expressions and movements. Through this tortured moment, I express my thoughts on the state of human existence. At the same time, it also pinned my expectations for the future society.

1991 born in Shenzhen China ,now live in Berlin, Germany. She obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2014 and continued to study for a Master of Arts degree in China in 2015. In 2017, she won a scholarship from the Chinese government and went to Italy to study art at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Fierenze . In 2019, she continue to study contemporary art in gemany at Staatliche Akademie der Bildenen Künste Karlsruhe ,learn from professor Tatjana Doll. Xinyan Zhang's works show her persistent exploration of human psychology and living conditions, combining free brushstrokes and symbolic signs to create a unique pictorial language. She has always been keen on portraying fictional creatures, cartoon images, and her iconic "observer." Like a traditional painter, she meticulously studies the forms of these characters and consciously all objects. In the "Toys" series, she explores the infinite possibilities of subjective perspective construction and self-reshaping. In these works, the artist once again mixes her superb painting skills with anti-traditional creative techniques. The "Metamorphosis" series reflects on humanity's common social state, such as loneliness, intimacy, and distance. She is proficient in traditional painting techniques but is not constrained by form to see her varied styles in the exhibition. At the same time, concrete and abstract are woven into signs and symbols, whose creations are inspired by rich experience, German literature, and German philosophy, from Kafka to Nietzsche. Xinyan Zhang's works involve paintings, Art installations, drawings, and other fields. Under the impact of different Chinese and European cultures, her works directly reflect the artist's phased life thinking.
