About The Artwork

Two sheets of acid-free paper are connected in the back. I did this work in my studio in Berlin. In this process I experimented with different techniques and mixed media; while applied metallic pigments I let the painting run to take its course. This is the result of an abstraction of the melting glaciers during the night. The recycled chocolate papers are from countries that are members of the Paris Climate Change Agreement and were meticulously placed to simulate reflections.

Born in Argentina - 1960 - I left my country in times of military repression and lived in Puerto Rico, Berlin Germany and in the US. From 2009 to 2015 I resided in the historic neighborhood of Fort Point, the oldest artist community in Boston. In Berlin I had my studio from 2015 to 2019 and during my stay in the most diverse city in Europe, I had the great opportunity to get involved in the multicultural environment by exhibiting my artworks, renewing my creativity and producing new works. My experiences is in constant discoveries that lead to continue investigating a new world of ideas to implement with a variety of media of my interest. The essence of my multidisciplinary artwork is related to personal experiences - especially my childhood in Argentina - social-political issues and the environmental crisis, which is my current topic. I materialize these concepts in ceramic sculptures, paintings and mixed media installations. Occasionally I implement personal items and recycled materials. The process is partly spontaneity and evolves by connecting ideas and resources, as well as what the subconscious has saved throughout my life. The inspiration that evolves in unique ways are situations, places and connections with different cultures that put me on the path of new challenges.
