About The Artwork

through the trees a path almost unseen step through the plants the weeds then mud imprints of gentle feet a vestige placed a moment passed the path a step beyond winding through wild grown things waking trees new with leaves hawks above they see what I can not but on and on and on to walk through thorny plants coil and twist far worse than wire barbed tears my skin and clothes another step again again pulls me on and in approach so close but never reach the edge almost but never really understand

Symbolist... narrative, mythologic.... psychological....., idiosyncratic ... and sometimes just not right! Oh, life can be so very hard. Look into the mirror. Find what changes might placate the gods. Make this journey a bit easier But the mirror is theirs, the gods of mediocrity and the status quo! Loki, the god of change, certainly would know this was wrong, a superficial ploy, and at great cost. He could wreak havoc. Thoth, the Ibis, the moon god, the tongue and speech of Ra would go dead silent. To lose oneself! Dismissed and catalogued to support their faltering edifices. So embrace the soul of a"melancholic extraordinaire." Confide in Ibis of the crescent moon. Know that suffering has meaning. With the Ibis guide, the books of the ages, the resonant music of the mind, the symphony of the spheres of the cosmos, wear a hat, but not to cover the cowlicks. Continue the journey, looking back to find the elusive meaning, but never to placate the gods of mediocrity and the status quo. Be subversive in that way. Disclaimer: all animals, creatures and beings are metaphors and not meant to be real entities. I would like to say no metaphors were harmed in the writing of this statement but I'm afraid they may have been in the mixing.
