About The Artwork
AR-REHMAN (55:78) "Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor." This artwork is truly inspired by early Kufic transcript of Quran i.e. the first five official copies of Quran prepared in reign of Caliph Uthman (RA) (mid 7th century) . The manuscripts were free of dots and diacritical marks. However, in times of Abdul Malik Bin Marwan (late 7th century), dots and punctuation marks were introduced in subsequent Quranic manuscripts for the first time. This painting features last Verse of Surah Rehman in deep Rose color. The Arabic text is outlined with thin dim-gold to add to its deluxe. Background of painting is textured and is prepared mainly using gesso, opaque white and yellow. For richness and depth, variants of acrylic yellow paints have been used. The background does glow at night.
