Arcane Double-bluff Summit Whiplash. Painting

Philip Stanier’s work is a merger of minimalism and surrealism using only ink and a charcoal. They balance 'Intuition', 'Accident', and 'Design'. The works are neither paintings of specific people or places, but rather feelings and thoughts that escape explanation. Yet as a result the works can be reads as abstract portraits, maps, formulae, or even a language. The designs themselves are drawn by instinct and discovered. Philip is a self taught fine-artist having previously been a maker of contemporary theatre and performance for 20 years. He is also now writing his first novel. He will be exhibiting his first works publicly in April.
