About The Artwork

I’m talking about my art-challenge. I show my picture, made on the 12th day. Challenge was called to pump my skills in spontaneous painting and at the same time my written English. In total, I have created 30 artworks for the entire time of this art-challenge. And here is the story that I wrote on the 12th day of my experiment: "I want to introduce you my 12th day's art-work. This work is some strange, because it was like meditation. I took a huge quantity of paints and I was laying paints on canvas like a cream (I'm afraid it will dry during eternity). I've really enjoyed by this process. I love oil paints, they are alive. And they are very palpable. When I'm painting I'm tempted to touch canvas and paints by my fingers. Sometimes I understand Van Gogh who had ate paints. I know he was crazy but I think I understand him. I even feel the taste of oil paints in my mouth. May be a little of medium got into my mouth when I was gnawing a brush thoughtfully. Today I corresponded with my new english-speaking friends very much. And I feel that my english became much fluently. And I start to think less, how and what to say. This is especially noticeable in my correspondence with friends. May be it not good for quality, but right now I have completely different task – to overstep the language barrier and to start to use this forign language as thoughtlessly as my native language. I think I could increase quality late. What do you think about it? Do you agree with me? So… Please enjoy my new picture and have a nice day!" I am researching a woman’s self-awareness, formed through the prism of stereotypes and prejudices that were developed in society. I compare behavior deviation from expected patterns to a glitch effect. Glitch art criticizes the digital culture promoting an ideal transmission of the image. Social glitch is self-expression through violation of programmed standing orders. In my context, the glitch looks like an inconsistency in the information expected. I express the glitch effect through the Central Asian ikat ornament. An ornament is a visual projection of a society. And for me personally it is endowed with special meanings because I grew up in Tashkent, and oriental ornament is part of my aesthetics.
