Cutnotslices, Semarang, Indonesia, 1994, is a stencil artist who brings a visual pop art style to his works of art on the street and studio. Since 2013, Cutnotslices has worked in various mediums (paper cutting, photography, posters, collages), and in 2017, he started his artistic process, which he named Cutnotslices, a work that is an amalgamation of his previous work process and his main projection on street walls. Living and growing up in a religious family makes Cutnotslices's work more emotional because he sees what he experiences or happens around him, then pours it into a visual form with a general narrative. Lines, text, pastel colors, abstract shapes, and random compositions are his style in building a narrative. Random composition is a response to how he grew on fast information and then was forced to map out unstructured problems because anyone, anywhere, could spread information, whether complete or not. He tries to direct and release the imagination of the audience by giving points and at the same time displaying incomplete forms. Cutnotslices wants each of his works to be read with every experience the audience has in the hope of igniting long-buried memories. Currently, Cutnotslices has entered a new stage, season 4, where at this stage the impression of expressionism, roughness, and technical complexity of the stencil will often appear, very different from seasons 1, 2, and 3, which are clean, neat, and seem structured.
