Authenticity Painting

I have two careers. One as an artist and one as a public speaker and I speak about empowerment, especially for women. My process for this piece is I used a scientific eye-dropper or “pipets” to lay the ink, in this case for the word Authenticity. Then I also am an oil painter so once the ink dried, about 4 hours later I took my rubber gloved hand and created the figure to the left. The figure represents two things for me a woman and a fish. There is a belief that fish represent the ability to "skate" through emotions. I liked the resulting image and perhaps even more appreciated the meaning of a woman skating through emotion effortlessly, just like how the painting arrived. In my second career I teach people how to "show their glint" in life. Flash like a fish in the little moments to build to the full expression of who they truly and AUTHENTICALLY are. This piece is ready to hang with wire in place.
