Autoreflection Painting

Autoreflection is the process of thinking and considering one's own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is important because it enables a person to become aware of his possibilities of introspection or self-examination. When the author is in front of the canvas, then this work shows a self-portrait, but it can also be a portrait of any other person who is reflected in it and through it. The mirror dimension of the canvas in the case of my work serves as a space in which the observer is offered the opportunity to stop and become aware of himself because the awareness of looking and being seen is one of the most important prerequisites for human cognition of self-awareness. On the other hand, standing in front of the painting, the observer contributes to the construction of new shapes on its surface because when there is no object in front of the painting, it is a silver surface that reflects the staticity of the space in which it is located. It is the observer, therefore, who transforms the static surface of the image into a single dynamic surface.
