About The Artwork
Though fleeting, autumn is a visually spectacular time of year. This painting was inspired by the artist's hikes through the deciduous forests around her home in Basel, Switzerland. She is constantly amazed by the beauty of natural forms and chooses to highlight this by composing her work in a more graphic manner. The tree's branches are painted a flat dark blue and the fall leaves, in shades of oranges and reds, are painted as abstract forms. The background is a very pale green. This painting is part of the artist's “Habitat” series, which is a celebration of trees, plants, botanical forms and animals. It is stretched on a frame and is easy to hang.
