About The Artwork
I wanted to make a very graphic, mirrored painting with text. I chose to write in Spanish since I lived many years in Spain and speak the language fluently. I usually have a period where I am hooked on one color in particular and the time the painting was made I was obviously into this blue tone - plain clear blue. It made me remember the shores of Barcelona with the everblue skie and sea, and the vibrant, cool cultural life the city offers.

I paint mostly with acrylics on canvas, using bold brush strokes and palette knife to create structures. My art is characterized by vivid colors and clear forms, with a figurative style on the edge of becoming abstract. The human figure and the portrait is a main motif, creating new forms when overlapped and painted in different colors. I play with the borders of figurative and abstract and strive for balance and contrast in color.
