ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I painted this picture on a cliff on the Danish island of Aeroe in the Baltic Sea on May 1st. It is an impressionistic depiction of the beauty of the coastal landscape. In the foreground, boulders lie between the fresh grass. Last year's ochre-colored, dry stalks break through the green vegetation. The bright yellow of the rape fields glows in the background. An old brickworks chimney can be seen in the distance. The view extends from the cliffs to the gentle blue-grey sea. There are many white clouds in the light blue sky. My brushwork is expressionistic with an impasto application of paint. The picture support is a self-covered, triple-primed canvas with a steel cable for suspension. The edges are painted. The picture can be hung without framing. My signature is on the front.

I have a particular passion for plein air painting, whether in my own garden or along the picturesque coastline of the Danish Baltic Sea. The ever-changing weather and shifting light significantly influence my creative process, sometimes requiring me to adjust my pace. Other series are developed in the studio, including macro studies of beaches and portrayals of people and animals in natural settings. In my abstract work, everyday experiences serve as the foundation. I utilize a variety of mediums, including oil on canvas or wood, pen and ink wash drawings, and watercolors.
