A woman making nokhsi katha. Nokhsi katha is a Bangla word, nokshi means designed and katha means blanket. Many women in the rural side of the country makes such blankets for their home and also as a mean for their livelihoods by selling them. It usually takes a month to create these blankets. Email: Born in Sayedpur town in the northern part of the country, I am a Bangladeshi artist and my name is Talha Bin Shams. I graduated in Fine Arts and majored in painting and graphic design from UODA in Bangladesh. Then I pursued my first postgraduate study in 'social science' at the University of Dhaka. I have been living in Poland for two years now and i Just graduated with my second post-graduation degree in ‘Intercultural Communications’ at the University of Maria Curie Sklodowska in Lublin, Poland. I work with painting, graphics, illustration and, designing clothes. I have presented Bangladeshi folk culture and folk art forms through my artworks at several art exhibitions in Poland and Bangladesh. Some of these paintings which i have uploaded in here are from my previous exhibition in Poland and a few of them are for sale.
