Carolyn Mielke, born in 1983 in East Germany, is a talented pop art artist specializing in portrait painting. Under her artist name "carographic by Carolyn Mielke," she creates impressive works characterized by bold colors and dynamic compositions. Her artworks capture the diverse facets of human personalities, making them both modern and timeless. Since 2011, Carolyn has been working as a freelance graphic designer and painter in Cottbus. Her creative journey began with a commercial apprenticeship and continued through artistic training at the Academy for Information and Communication Design DD, leading her to the arts. Over the course of her career, she has participated in numerous exhibitions and held several solo shows. Her works have been featured in renowned magazines such as "ARTISTCLOSEUP" and "the holy art magazine #2," and showcased at significant events like "ART EXPO MIAMI 2023" and "ART SWISS EXPO 2024." Carolyn takes particular pride in the publication of her works in "Freistil 7 – The Book of Illustration" by Hermann Schmidt Verlag. In 2024, she will be digitally represented at The Holy Art Gallery’s “Artists on Loop” in London and Athens. The year 2023 was especially eventful for Carolyn: in addition to her digital publication with artboxprojects “ART EXPO MIAMI 2023” and a feature in “ARTISTCLOSEUP #11,” she participated in a traveling exhibition with large-format banner flags by Jörn Hanitzsch, shown in Dresden, Cottbus, Lübbenau, and Augsburg. Her fifth solo exhibition took place in two pop-up galleries in Cottbus, where she showcased 30 artworks over three months. Previously, in 2022, Carolyn exhibited her work in a pop-up gallery at the DB ICE4 RAW Cottbus project office. This six-month exhibition focused on portrait painting. In 2021, she presented her studies in large-format portrait painting at the Weinfreundin Vinothek in Cottbus and was published in the prestigious “Freistil 7 – The Book of Illustration.” Her first two solo exhibitions were held at Esscobar in Cottbus in 2020 and 2019, where she also focused on portrait painting. From 2012 to 2020, Carolyn participated in various exhibitions in the Lausitz region, including Galerie Ebert, Galerie Fango, and Living Room Gallery. Her professional career also includes a position where she rose from executive assistant to Creative Director. Carolyn’s artistic work is distinguished by her unique style that blends pop culture, music, and human expressions.
