As a plein air painter I run across all sorts of things in my travels. Old cars make me smile and when I find one I'm hooked for the duration. This old guy is never going to hit the road again but he still has great lines. And the fins that go from here to there and back again. Reminded me of early Batmobiles...thus the title: 'Batman's first Lincoln'. This painting is 14x18, oil, plein air, painted on linen on hardwood panel, framed and ready to hang.

United States
I grew up in a family of medical professionals. Art was a distant land but I had the support that made becoming an artist a reality. After a long and successful career as a studio photographer I switch back to painting full time. As Lon Brauer Studios I have been creating both figurative and landscape images with oil paint for the past 10 years. My work is shown nationwide in galleries and is owned by private collectors throughout the United States and abroad. Whether figure, landscape, or still life my paintings engage with the viewer communicating a visual story. The work explores both subject and the materials needed to convey the abstraction of image on a flat surface.
