About The Artwork

My work is based on observation and search. I spend my days observing everything and, unconsciously, finding paintings everywhere. I want to paint constantly, and this need translates into my way of seeing and understanding the world. These mental records are translated to my work in an intuitive way. I work a lot with my brushstroke as a form of writing or calligraphy, a mark of my own that varies according to what I want to say. I work from chaos and try to put some order in it, until I feel that everything has found its place. This painting is inspired by water, rivers flowing, splashes and color battles. It is acrylic painting on 200grs paper for mixed media. It will be shipped carefully rolled and packed in a tube. The painting can be streched again once a frame is installed.

Francesca Roncagliolo is a Peruvian-Italian abstract painter living in Madrid Spain. She divides her day between her work as a designer and her work in the studio. In her resume there are plenty achievements since she completed her artistic studies between Lima, Vancouver and Madrid, Spain; city in which she lives since summer of 2001. Her work has been selected for different art prizes as XVI Edition de Circuitos de Artes Plásticas y Fotografía, by the Madrid Comunity, Catalonia Miquel Casablancas prize and the XII Edition of Shows 2004-2005, Centro de Arte Joven, Madrid, among others. Her work has been shown among different countries as Argentina, Chile, China, Perú, Australia, Spain and London, England. Photography, Video, sculpture, net art but mainly painting (digital and traditional) have been the mediums chosen by this artist to give away her inner feelings. Now she presents us a new turning point, as usual in her work, coming back to her studio painting practice. Inspired by abstract expresionism, action painting and modernism she works in acrylics, collage and drawing working her way from figuration to abstraction and allowing paint to be the only feature of her practice.
