About The Artwork

A painting done in the form of a (circle. square, rectangle, triangle) is somewhat of a classic regarding the many artist's who have done on e. In my opinion this work for an artist is akin to a rite of passage, especially if you are working in the area of abstract expressionism. I also believe that the same hold's true for any collector, that a work consisting of a (circle. square, rectangle, triangle) is a necessary piece for every serious collection. It is a cornerstone as it represents the building blocks from which art takes it's form. I actually like these kind of works and they are regarded by many in the field as great works. This is my version of the classic, done in the primary colors red, blue, yellow and green. This one is different than traditional one's, I have taken the approach that, most of us are not new to art either creating, collecting or both and I view this work as I do Art as a whole, that it is an ever evolving process and that we are always learning and growing in our experience and ability therefore, it is done in the spirit of a re-work or a return to the original as if the work had been done years ago and has now been re created on top of the old and faded canvass. At the start I did the complete work on this canvass / paper in a rudimentary more simplistic fashion as one would who was just beginning, then I covered it with new paint and did it again on top of the original this time with more advanced techniques and a higher level of skill as one would expect a more seasoned and advanced artist to do. So, It has been done once on this canvass, then done again on top of so it is a re-work or a return to the original work and that is why I entitled it "Beginning's" Rudiment's of Form Re-Visited!

Nate Stewart - Artist I am preparing to do 3 works on canvass, each 6' X 9', The works are to be offered here at Saatchi Art, they are to be a Space Scene, if however you would like one or all three done in a certain way or color scheme, just let a curator know, they can get the ball rolling and get your information and present it to me and I can get back with you and make sure everything is like you are wanting. I am also preparing to paint for myself a 19' x 100' wall Muriel on a 3,000 square foot brick building I have down town. I started drawing early in school being fascinated with pencil sketches and shading, essentially becoming aware of how shades and shadowing create a 3D effect on a flat surface. I continued on discovering the various method’s of expression and application’s used in the traditional medium’s. I used these medium’s and method’s to express the creative idea’s from within as well as for the interpretation and replication of various inspirational images that are all around us. During the 22 years that I owned and operated Nate Stewart Advertizing, my experience in art grew and my abilities were refined as I produced graphic art for local and national companies, organization’s and association’s. Having established myself as a commercial artist, I have turned my focus toward fine art and has been creating art of the abstract expression and fantasy distinction. I am working with spray can and acrylic pour on canvass and other substraits, with various augmentation’s and or combination’s of both techniques to create works that to me are vibrant, inspiring and intriguing. I am focused on the creative side however, as much as subject matter is a motivation, the techniques employed and the different way’s they can be used are a factor equal to subject matter as far as my motivation for creating. Sometimes the subject matter is not the important element factor, it is the method and technique employed that is the important thing and is what makes the work special as it could be applied to any subject matter and the beauty would still be present. Sometimes the subject matter is chosen solely for it’s affinity for the method and the technique and not it’s identity.
