BELIZE. Walking down a narrow foot path in a dense rain forest bird watching, absent mindedly caressing its thick undergrowth with the fingers to feel the reality. Life in a natural setting as God intended it to be. Smiling at nature,imprinted on the mind pictures of pristine coastlines and white sandy beaches not so far off. Searching anxiously with the eyes wide open back and forth for wild cats but hoping not to meet any. Simple pleasures embodied at an ideal location. All that is serene is suddenly enveloped and shattered by deafening shrieks from a black howler monkey. Frozen with fright standing still on dried rotting shredded leaves, the reality of a world that's decaying dawns on you. The cool jungle shed turns tropic hot and humid dense. The daylight haunts with moving shadows of leaves swaying at the breeze. The sweet memories turn sour from a reality of high-rise prisons that awaits with work in order to afford this facade. Walking down a foot path in a thick rain forest. The only possible consolation is words from a old hymn "This world is not my home". I am a sojourner looking for an eternal city with permanent foundations,whose architect is God. Praying those who traverse this paths are in the same search as me.
