Painting: Metal, Oil, Paint, Wood on Iron, Wood.
These artworks need an old frame, which has his own story, and a depicted sky, which rests on rusty iron soil. Sometimes these elements coexist in their individuality, sometimes they promote their own graphic sign, sometimes this sign crosses the elements themselves. With these works I want to establish a correlation between thought and reality, picturing that both of them are free and that only a frame restored to life can contain them.
This artwork belongs to the "Between Sky and Soil" series. Each work is achieved by using two techniques: oil on wood on the superior part and rusty iron on the inferior one. Romeo in fact makes oxidized an iron sheet in order to create the colour shades which are necessary to fulfill the work. Thereafter the work gets painted with fireproof varnish for halting the oxidation process and making the surface uniform.
