About The Artwork

Under the directions of Padmasambhāva, I traveled to one of the 108 Beyuls- partly on foot and partly in Spirit. Before embarking on this journey The Venerated Rinpoche explained the meaning of the mystical Tibetan chant “Om Mani Padme Hum”, and it’s close relation to the Beyul where I was going. Situated behind the cascades of the steepest waterfall of the Brahmaputra, just as the river turns to blast down the deep gorges of the Himalayas, the gateway to the spot where the celestial planes overlap the physical Universe awaits those who dare to enter. The Precious Guru placed the key to the portal in my heart and advised me to travel light. So I shed my identity and all thoughts and ideas associated with it. Since the place does not show up on any government issued maps, the directions to the Beyul would be conveyed to me telepathically by the One born from a Lotus. The pilgrimage was difficult but enduring the hardship simply added to the excitement of seeing and being in the Beyul. When I finally did reach there, I saw the six syllabled esoteric mantra carved on the shrine in the Tibetan script. The essence of the mantra formed the entire structure of the monastery. I live here now. The desire to return to an existence surrounded by soul wrenching toxicity like corruption, politics, war, greed, man-made religion is most repelling. Hence, this is where I live, sometimes in body other times in Spirit until the end of Time and into Infinity.
