ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Read full at This is the chapter two of bhagvad geeta. According to ancient vedas, there are four Yugas, sat-yug (white), treta-yug ( orange, rama), dwapar-yug ( red, krishna) and kal-yug ( black). In Bhagvad Geeta chapter two shree krishna tells arjuna that you are an eternal soul and you have taken many births in various yugs. This is same as a tree. A tree has one trunk but different branches. Each branch in different time zone representing a birth in that time. But the trunk is same, the soul is same. The leaves on branch represent the karma of that birth. Krishna explains that you are invisible to the eyes before birth, then you become visible when you are born and again after death you become invisible to the worldly eyes. So how does a yogi look like? Asks arjuna. Krishna explains that for a yogi (left tree) the night is day and the day is night. He is self contained and self determined. He is neither happy nor sad. He is same in success and in failure. Nothing can touch his essence. He has taken control of his senses and meditates upon me. Continuous remembrance of me is the surest way of liberation. But my maya or creation (ocean) is so powerful that it can attract you back in the world (right tree). So, by performing disinterested actions (nishkam karma) and meditating upon me you can pass this ocean in any yug. Then you will remain within me forever like drops remain in ocean. -Anirudh
