About The Artwork
I painted this picture during my trips around my country, after the archaeological excavations in the city of Penjikent, I stayed in the beautiful city of Samarkand. In different centuries, Samarkand was the capital of large countries. It was a city of merchants and artisans, along which the Great Silk Road passed. And in the picture, the Grand mosque was built by order of the commander Amir Temur (Tamerlane) in 1399-1404 in Samarkand. However, Amir Temur, who returned after the military campaign, was not happy with the construction and immediately made various changes, especially to the head dome (height-40m). The main mosque of the capital was to become a symbol of the greatness and power of the state.
