About The Artwork
Bike With A Basket is part of my Young & Free Series. To create this series I dipped way back in my memory to summer as a kid. I grew up in a small town outside of Halifax NS, in a house with a big backyard, tons of trees, and a huge playground down the street. I lived just minutes from my best friend, and we spent our summers riding bikes, climbing jungle gyms, creating imaginary time traveling adventures, and eating candy from the corner store. These paintings are representations of those memories. If you don't do wild things while you’re young, you’ll have nothing to smile about when you’re old.

I work in ink, acrylic and resin, and typically in a limited color palette. I focus on the subtle interaction of colors and the tension created between them. I’m constantly experimenting to find new and interesting ways to achieve a look of liquid suspended in air.
