About The Artwork

I created this mosaic by my favorite artist's painting. His name is A. Gudaitis. This artist's works are undeservedly forgotten in Lithuania. So, I decided to remind about him. A. Gudaitis painted with oil paint on canvas, and I created a mosaic with smalta (Venetian glass) on a wooden base. But I tried to keep the original colors. I think I managed to do it and I'm very pleased with this picture. I hope you enjoy this mosaic.

I'm free artist. I'm in love in mosaic. Mosaic is the art of creating images with an assemblage of small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials. It may be a technique of decorative art, an aspect of interior decoration, or of cultural and spiritual significance as in a cathedral. Small pieces, mostly roughly square, of stone or glass of different colors, known as tesserae, (diminutive tessellae), are used to create a pattern or picture. So, this kind of art has a millions of possibilities.
