Title "Black shadow" This colored drawing belongs to the "Conspicuous points of view" series that Júlio Alves has developed since 2014. Usually the subject is inspired by a situation that catch the eye because of an unexpected visual condition. "Every time we see the same place, there is always an strangeness that results from the combination of what we expect to see and what is there in reality. Over time I began to give importance to this interval of strangeness and started to realize that after all a substantial part of our knowledge about what is happening around us is also a result from the interpretation we make of it." The painting is 16,5 H x 24.4 W inch on fine art acid free paper This Artwork is hand signed and dated in the backside. Along with the Artwork, will be shipped the certificate of authenticity. Julio Alves has produced a diverse body of work that includes painting, drawing, installation and sculpture. With his studio based in Estoril, in the portuguese atlantic coast, he has developed his activity for nearly three decades and has carried out several solo and group exhibitions. With an academic background in architecture, subsequently studied painting at the Society of Fine Arts of Lisbon and in recent years has been devoted entirely to painting. It was during the last decade that he continually has developed the theme of the landscape that is still the core of his work.
