Black&White Painting

The painting imitates the haboku technique (flying ink), which contributes to a high degree of form abstraction. This technique was brought to Japan by artist-monk Sesshu during the Muromami period (first half of the 15th century). This is the period of the deep influence of Zen Buddhism on society and art: restrained observation of nature and a neat calligraphic line of writing. Expressive Haboku painting was a breakthrough in Japanese consciousness, because Japanese painting is based on the continuity of the line, which is the basis of the drawing. The quality of ink painting came down to tightly controlled expression and technical prowess. The presented picture is a modern processing of the expressionist experience of the entire history of art. This is a painting in the moment. Unconscious. The uncontrolled freedom of the artist’s creative expression was done by all revolutionaries who became closely within the framework and templates of the “right” art: Sessu, Pollock, Rothko, Malevich, Kandinsky - masters who turned art on new paths of development.
