Blessed are the Peacemakers Painting

“Blessed are the peacemakers…for they shall be called children of God” While planning this piece, the weapon was purposely absent from the frame, implied only by the empty holster, as her weapon is drawn, her arms move to the low ready position. I wanted to show the humanity of the American law enforcement officer, vulnerable, and yet moving forward into harm’s way, because our communities matter to us. Our Oath: On my honor, I will never betray my badge, my integrity, my character or the public trust. I will always have the courage to hold myself and others accountable for our actions…And yes, we too don’t like bad cops…Remember the fallen / Respect the righteous “Bienaventurados los pacificadores, porque ellos serán llamados hijos de Dios” En esta obra, el arma está ausente del cuadro, implícita en una funda desocupa y sus brazos en posición al bajo listo.
