Blinded by Civilization (Alienated Vol. II) Painting

This collection is about a transformation. From robot to almost human. From human to robot due to alienation. It tries to show a sneaky view about how this is happening in different phases. Fisrt of all the robot is underworld. Never has seen the lights. He lives as the subjects of the myth of the cave has lived. He lives in the darkness and reject the society life. For the background I’ve tried to get a very dark colour mixing Prussian Blue with Quinacridone Violet and a little of Burnt Umber. For the subject I’ve keep using the same Prussion Blue tone to match both elements: Figure & background (Fillness - Emptiness), but combining them with some pure Cadmium Yellow & Red for the lights to generate a strong contrast between them. I’ve tried to forget a little about the human features, focusing my mind on the silhouettes emphasised by those very warm lights. He get a metaphorical reecarnation in differents versions of himself, depending of which urban subgroup tell the story of this revolutionary character. Something very similar to what happens nowadays with the Gods: they will be totally different, depending who is telling the story of them. I made some differents versions of the reincarnation firming up the features of every urban style. All of them surrounded by the same dark atmosphere and composed with the same color palette to give a similar appearance to the character to make easy to understand his evolution. This is the first collection that I’ve painted in a small canvases. All of them are 30cm x 24cm. They last detail that I added them it was a bright red colour on the edges of the canvas to match with light colors of the painting.
